Our Story

Mental health challenges have become a pressing concern in Jamaican society and beyond, with alarming statistics revealing over 108,000 Jamaicans treated for mental illness last year alone, including 2,500 cases involving children and adolescents. As Consultant Psychiatrist Dr. Yvonne Bailey-Davidson emphasizes, mental health problems can affect children as young as three, demanding early intervention to ensure their well-being.

Tragically, many young individuals are mislabeled or misunderstood, as Executive Director Claudette Pious notes, when in reality, they may simply need compassionate support to thrive. Across the country, mental instability has been linked to domestic violence, suicide, and societal dysfunction, casting an urgent spotlight on the need for intervention. If current trends continue, experts warn the number of affected individuals could double within the next decade.

Schools are grappling with rising behavioral issues, substance abuse, and stress among students, underscoring the dire need for dedicated spaces for prevention and treatment.

Driven by the vision to make a difference, I am committed to creating a welcoming sanctuary for individuals to reclaim their mental health, empowering them to overcome challenges and find resilience in the face of adversity. Together, we can build a future of hope, growth, and healing.
